Children love animals! That’s a fact. I created the “Mangrove Collection” just for students who love learning about animals. Including “The Upside-down Jellyfish.”
This is a cute duet about an unusual Mangrove creature known as the Upside-down Jellyfish. This easy piece can be played as written as a solo or piano 1 plays an octave higher than written for the duet. Students will be fascinated by the facts about the Upside-down Jellyfish.
“Cassiopea (upside-down jellyfish) is a genus of true jellyfish and the only member of the family Cassiopeidae.[1] They are found in warmer coastal regions around the world, including shallow mangrove swamps, mudflats, canals, and turtle grass flats in Florida, and the Caribbean and Micronesia. The medusa usually lives upside-down on the bottom, which has earned them the common name. Where found, there may be numerous individuals with varying shades of white, blue, green, and brown.” Wikipedia
It’s great when kids who love piano can also learn about the world around them. Music is a powerful tool for all kinds of learning. Take this opportunity to explore nature and teach a new piece of music at the same time. Your students and their parents will love it!
