Cricket’s Curtain Call

Paloma Piano - The Cricket's Curtain Call

Last November outside of my window in Northeast Ohio I heard one little cricket chirping away. She was the inspiration for this song. Perfect for anyone interested in singing.

"Hear the lonely cricket playing on. Once summer’s starlit symphony now November’s final song.

Listen to the cricket’s curtain call

Once a brilliant symphony of sound just a solitary solo now.

One by one each night musician goes. Packing up their horns and bows to escape to the warmth below.

The leaves of autumn dance their final scene as icy winter’s waiting in the wings

Listen to the evening’s gentle tune. decrescendo underneath the chilly harvest moon.

The shivering cricket perseveres, as the dreaded cold draws near.

Vowing that she’ll never cease until the maestro says

It’s time to sleep."
