Learning to play using leadsheets is a valuable skill for any pianist.

I have created a resource for my students that I am sharing with all of you. I have taken 4 popular public domain songs and divided each one into 4 steps.

  1. Leadsheet using blocked root position left-hand chords and right-hand melody.
  2. Left-hand chord inversions and right-hand melodies.
  3. melody and chord tones in the right-hand and left-hand octaves or single notes.
  4. Right-hand melody and chord tones with left-hand patterns for a fuller more professional sound.
