Free Workshop.

Monday, June 2, 2025 – 1:00 EST

I’ve been on both sides of the piano learning journey.

I started taking jazz piano lessons on Skype before COVID and loved it. I had access to a great teacher. It was convenient, cost-effective, and most of all fun!

When the pandemic came, I was thrown into online teaching just like everyone else. It’s been six years, and I am still teaching online. I have a ‘hybrid’ studio. Online students, in-person students, and some students who are both online and in-person.

I live in Cleveland, Ohio, and I have students in Grand Junction, Colorado, West Palm Beach, Florida, Atlanta, Georgia, and Minneapolis, Minnesota. I also teach students online who live on the other side of my city, and some who live only minutes away prefer lessons online!

Teachers have been asking me how I do it. So I am inviting you all to a free webinar. Actually, it will be more like a lesson. I will show you my entire setup and share everything I know about online teaching. Plus, I’ll take a piece of music and demonstrate how I teach it online.

The Workshop will cover;

  • The pros and cons of online lessons.
  • Why I think the piano is well-suited for online lessons.
  • The bare minimum needed to get started.
  • How I set up my studio for online lessons.
  • Which platforms I use to conduct lessons.
  • Optimizing the Zoom sound setup.
  • Which devices work best for online lessons.
  • The equipment I use to facilitate online lessons.
  • Screen sharing.
  • My favorite online apps and games.
  • How my students and I choose repertoire.
  • How to instantly assign and start teaching a new piece while online.
  • Asynchronous lessons.
  • Online live and video recitals.
  • Communicating with parents.
  • Keeping track of assignments.
  • Payments and scheduling.
  • How to recruit new online students.
  • Online group lessons.
  • And as always, there will be a Q and A where you can ask questions and share your insights!

This is going to be super fun! There will be a workshop syllabus and a piece of music that everyone who attends can keep and reproduce.

Once you sign up, you’ll get a chance to vote on which free piece you would like to have. It will be yours to keep and reproduce for your students.

Don’t miss out. There are only 50 seats, so sign up for the FREE WORKSHOP before clicking off this page.

The webinar will be recorded.
